Our first boxer came to us in June of 1994. Zoë,
a plain fawn was purchased from a backyard breeder;
we thought she was beautiful. She will always be a champion to us, having helped raise our two legged
kids and being a great protector.
We got our second boxer in September of 1996. Max,
was a huge brindle and was as sweet as he was large. Sadly we lost Max on his 8th birthday to a brain tumor.
We were just broken hearted and it did not take us long to realize that Zoë was not going to recover from the
loss of her best friend. With the kids grown our old girl was left very alone.
Browsing the internet we came upon a local breeder
and inquired about a pet quality puppy. Annette Clark, Ensign Boxers, invited us to come see a brindle boy she had available. He was show quality.
It was love at first sight for all of us including Zoë. So Lincoln, now
Ch. Ensign's Honest Abe,
came into our family. Lincoln is my constant companion. He now rules our home and
our hearts with Zoë at his side. Needless to say our lives will never be the same.
We would like to thank Cheryl Cates,
Encore Boxers, not only for showing Lincoln to his championship but also for sharing
her years of experience with us and being a great mentor and friend.
